Playwright test automation services
We design, build and maintain Playwright test suites inside your repository and your CI/CD pipeline: end-to-end journeys, API tests and reporting. You keep the framework, the scripts and the documentation.
Why Playwright for test automation?
Playwright is Microsoft's open-source framework for end-to-end web testing. It drives Chromium, Firefox and WebKit, waits automatically for elements to be ready, runs tests in parallel and records traces you can replay step by step. It also sends HTTP requests directly, so UI and API tests live in the same suite and the same pipeline.
The tool alone does not make a suite reliable. Flaky tests, slow pipelines and scripts nobody dares to touch come from architecture choices: how tests are organised, how data is prepared, what runs on every change. That is the part we take care of.
What do our Playwright services include?
- Framework architecture: project structure, page objects or components, fixtures, test data and configuration per environment.
- Automation of priority journeys: the end-to-end flows and APIs that carry the most risk, chosen with you rather than by volume.
- CI/CD integration: tests triggered automatically in your pipeline (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins), with readable results reporting.
- Maintenance and stabilisation: fixing flaky tests at the root and keeping the suite in step with the product. Our guide to flaky Playwright tests shows the causes we look for first.
- Documentation and skills transfer: an installation and run guide, a maintenance procedure and code reviews with your team.
How does an engagement work?
- Free scoping call (30 minutes): the product, the risks, the deadline and the expected outcome.
- QA audit, if the target is not clear yet: €1,000 excl. VAT, 5 working days, ending with a prioritised and costed plan.
- QA industrialisation, from €4,500 excl. VAT fixed price: the Playwright framework, the priority journeys and the CI integration. A first phase usually takes around fifteen days.
- Embedded support, €300 excl. VAT per day, to automate new features and maintain the suite inside your sprints.
Scope, deliverables and price are written down before the work starts.
Can AI speed up Playwright test automation?
Yes, on preparation work. On one engagement, a functional specification in PDF was turned into reviewed test scenarios and a first Playwright test base in about one day, instead of about three weeks: read the PDF specification to Playwright case study. Every scenario and every test was reviewed by a QA engineer, and AI was used only with the client's consent. We also show the method in a recorded session where Claude Code writes a Playwright test and in our article on Playwright MCP.
Which stacks do you work with?
Playwright with TypeScript or Python (see our Playwright and pytest tutorial), alongside Cypress, Selenium, Appium and Postman when they are already in place. If you are choosing a tool, our Playwright vs Cypress comparison sets out the trade-offs, and the audit gives a reasoned recommendation before you invest.
Who does the work?
Oussama Belakhdar, ISTQB CTAL-TM certified QA architect and founder of AutomationDataCamp, with the AutomationDataCamp team. Testing and test automation are our whole business, and we also teach Playwright: our engineers write the suites they would want to maintain. Delivery is 100% remote, in English or French.
Frequently asked questions
Do we keep the code?
Yes. Scripts, framework and documentation are versioned in your repository, in your format. There is no mandatory technical dependency after the engagement.
We already have Cypress or Selenium tests. Do we have to rewrite them?
Not by default. The audit looks at what the existing suite costs to run and maintain, and recommends keeping, stabilising or replacing it, with the reasons.
How much does a Playwright framework cost?
Industrialisation starts at €4,500 excl. VAT fixed price. The final price is set from the audit's action plan, depending on the number of journeys and the state of your environments.
